Plant Layout

M.J.M has used Solidworks to complete a large scale plant layout for a nuclear facility.

Utilising the structural Member facility within solidworks allowed us to provide an accurate scheme  to scale.

Coupled with modeling the full structural layout Designers also Modelled all Tanks, platforms, Walkways, pipework, & ancilliaries in Solidworks 3D allowing us to:-

• Check for any interference / overlapping
• Check collisions between moving members by simulating it
• Consider load bearing capacity of structural members
• Check potential health and safety hazards
• Provide full layout drawings and accompanying jpeg images of the plant even before the first Piece of steel had been cut

This resulted in time and money saving from the beginning of the project.

Utilising our 3D capabilitiy also allowed decision makers to view the plant in semi-realistic terms giving them a better understanding of the finished plant.
